Hire a Home Stager to Sell Your Home Quicker!

There is a lot of emotional strain that goes into selling your own home. Sometimes, it's hard for you to be objective about your home. What's working for you may be undesirable to a prospective buyer.

Love your yellow kitchen, blue bath, and green bedroom? Great, but herein lies the problem. When you show your own home, a buyer will not insult you by telling you how they feel about your color scheme...in fact they may smile and tell you how much they like your choices, all the while they are thinking that they will never come back to your property. And then, you can't figure out why you haven't heard back from them, when all seemed so good. What do you do?

Hire a Home Stager to do a walk thru and give you an unbiased opinion even your own agent may be afraid to tell you - again, an agent doesn't want to offend you for fear you may fire them if they don't like your house.

A Home Stager charges you for a couple hours of work (usually about $100 - $175 per hour) but their suggestions, if you implement them, could net you thousands in your bottom line. Also, most of us (yes, I'm a home stager) will even move some of your items around while there, and show you how just a few minor adjustments can make all the difference in how your home shows to buyers.

It's true that kitchens can almost sell a home on their own...but the shift in recent has made bathrooms the #1 room that buyers want to sparkle.

Perhaps, it's the fast paced world we live in that "spa" like qualities really attract buyers. We want an escape...if your bath has that potential, a home stager can bring out the best.
New towels, accessories, shower curtains, and paint may be all it needs, but many people can't visualize the end result so they do little to nothing with this room.
So, tone down the reds, purples, and greens, and give your buyer a place to linger...the longer they stay, the more likely they will feel comfortable enough to make an offer on your home.

Choose Your Colors Wisely When Selling Your Home!

Growing up, my parents had a house that was built in the fifties. Green and black tiles adorned the walls, floor and bath surround. Every time I looked at myself in the mirror my skin tone looked horrible. Buyers01.jpgColors reflect in bathroom mirrors, so make sure that when you choose your bathroom color, that it reflects kindly on your face. Also, if your bathroom doesn't have a window or natural lighting it's best not to paint it in dark shades.

So, my advice....

Plan wisely, and bring home those swatches to view in the light of the room that they'll be used in. Also, there are custom paint samples that you can buy and try them on the wall before painting the whole room. These small paint samples are well worth it!
